Donate to St. Joseph's STOP THE BLEED Initiative
St. Joseph’s—home to the Valley’s first American College of Surgeons Level 1 Trauma Centers—has launched the STOP THE BLEED Initiative to equip and train partners in the community to act quickly and effectively following accidental and unforeseen traumas of all kinds. This initiative can transform bystanders into first responders who can take lifesaving steps to treat victims until healthcare professionals are on the scene.
Victims have a much greater chance of surviving a traumatic injury if someone can help stop heavy bleeding within the first 5 to 10 minutes of an accident or intense trauma. It can be as simple as correctly applying pressure with a gauze bandage or using a tourniquet to stop a person from hemorrhaging. But too often people lack the experience and tools to help victims after an accident or trauma occurs.
St. Joseph’s is already reaching out to schools, sports venues, churches and other organizations to educate them about the STOP THE BLEED Initiative. Many have expressed interest in receiving training and lifesaving equipment from St. Joseph’s to ensure they are prepared in the event of a future traumatic event. But we need support of philanthropic partners to fulfill the growing list of requests.
Your donation is urgently needed to support this lifesaving initiative!
