Patient care will always be the central focus of St. Joseph’s nurses, as it has been since our hospital was established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1895. The challenges of pushing through the COVID-19 pandemic—physically and mentally—have been the most difficult they have ever faced in their careers. Yet, they continued to fulfill their pledge to provide the highest quality care, delivered with compassion and dignity, to all our patients.
To support our nurses' well-being, St. Joseph's Foundation and hospital leaders pledged to create Nursing Resilience Rooms on campus, offering dedicated quiet space for nurses to unwind, relax, meditate and rejuvenate. Research has indicated this can lead to numerous benefits for nurses and patients alike, including better job performance, improved patient outcomes, less errors and increased employee retention.
Thank you to the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and members in the community for generously supporting St. Joseph's Nursing Resilience Rooms! Your generosity is impacting the health and well-being of nurses serving our community!
