Norton Thoracic Institute's Annual "Pinwheel Garden"
Did you know that April is "Donate Life" Month? To help raise awareness about the critical need for organ donation, you are invited to join transplant recipients, families, living donors, and the team from Norton Thoracic Institute on Friday, April 4th, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Together, we will plant a pinwheel garden in the flower beds at the hospital entrance.
Each pinwheel planted, almost 2,000, will represent a lifesaving organ transplant performed at Norton Thoracic Institute since our first lung transplant in 2007. Today, the Norton Thoracic Institute is one of the busiest and most successful lung transplant programs in the nation, serving as a premier destination for world-class diagnosis and treatment of complex thoracic diseases.
Pinwheels symbolically honor transplant recipients
Each of the four pinwheel spokes symbolizes the recipient of either a lung, liver or kidney transplant performed at the Norton Thoracic Institute and the living donor. And the stem represents the power that "one" donor can make in joining us to raise critical funds for medical innovation at St. Joseph’s Norton Thoracic Institute.
Purchase a pinwheel and we'll plant it for you
If you would like to purchase a pinwheel, our foundation team will plant it for you! A $5 donation covers our cost for each pinwheel planted. Your support helps propel the vision and mission of St. Joseph’s Norton Thoracic Institute to inspire unparalleled confidence in every area of our thoracic care.
